Shouldn’t this be counted as a parry

I've been playing Wuwa for quite a while, but always struggled with parrying to a degree so I dealt pretty much everything with dodge counters up until now. But, I really wanna learn how to parry most of the time, and I just can't seem to get the timing. I also wonder why it doesn't count as a parry in the video since I autoattacked right after the two rings meet. Isn't that what l'm supposed to do? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance!
