Should i buy xbox series s or ps5

I have an Xbox One S, and I wanna get a next-gen console, and I don’t know which one to get. I don’t really care about my Xbox account, and I know the Xbox Game Pass is better than PS+, but even if I buy an Xbox, I won’t buy the Game Pass. If I do, I’ll only get the 1-month, 3-month, or Core just for the online multiplayer when I know I’ll be playing for 1 or 3 months straight, and that goes the same for PS+. I am more of a single-player guy, but if I play games that need a subscription for online multiplayer (I know free games don’t need a subscription), I will only get it when I’m playing for 1 or 2 months straight. What do you suggest I do? Which console would be better suited for someone like me? Thank you
