About 2024 being a “Mandate”

Yes, I know practically every president who gets elected claims a mandate, but one of the reasons 2024 is blown way out of proportion was because a ton of people just stopped checking the results after Trump won. A ton of democratic states were taking a lot of time to count votes and ended up like 7-8% bluer after a week. The popular vote was also close to a 5% lead for Trump I think which is wayyy bigger than what it actually turned out to be. States like VA wrre very close but ended up being somewhat comfortable wins for Dems. NJ and NY overall were the only worrying states for democrats IMO. CT was showing an insane 13% shift to the right but a few days later it turned out to be only 5%. Same thing with Illinois lol. Most people just aren't addicted to elections like us fr
