cards missing from my account

a few months ago my boy lost the entire book of cards we own. luckily we had registered them to our account so could play them ok.

but in the last few days they've started to go missing from my account which makes me think someone else has found them and registered them to their account.

does this remove them from our account and if so this is an insane system!

any advice or help before i speak to yoto support?
