3rd/soon to be 4th year electrical apprentice from the maritimes interested in moving to AB. How viable is it?

I'm about to enter my 4th year of my electrical apprenticeship, so I will be licensed in approximately a year. All of my experience is in commercial construction. Because of a passion for climbing/the outdoors, I want to move somewhere that the mountains will be accessible to me. It seems more logical to me to consider Alberta over BC because of COL. I'd just like to hear from you folks, how is the job market looking for people like me right now? I'm ideally thinking about Calgary, or somewhere west of Calgary.
