Mad Maggie's Two Drill "Perk" Is Currently A Nerf (Rant/Analysis)
Literally made a reddit account just to get this out there, but Mad Maggie's two drill perk (if you can even call it a perk) is currently a nerf to her kit, and until the devs patch it you are trolling if you pick it as your level 3 perk over the thicker and wider drill.
To quickly breakdown the stats behind it: Maggie's base drill lasts for 9 seconds and has a 20 second cooldown. Choosing the thicker and wider drill perk gives it a 50% increase in length and width, with the same base cooldown of 20 seconds. HOWEVER, choosing the two tactical drills "perk" DECREASES the time the regular drill lasts to only 6.5 seconds, WHILE MAINTAINING a 20 second cooldown for each. This has all been tested both in the firing range and in game.
So when choosing the two drill perk over the thicker and wider one, you're essentially selecting to receive a worse version of her base kit drill every 20 seconds, rather than a STRONGER version of the drill that you can get back at the same time (every 20 seconds)! HOW CAN THIS BE CALLED A PERK?!?! Sure you can hold 2, but that means you have to wait 40 SECONDS every time to make actual use of the perk (if there even is a true benefit to waiting that long granted the 2.5 second active duration nerf to each), and by the time you get lvl 3 armor you are most likely in later zones where you want to be putting out as much high damage and long lasting pressure as possible. Thicker wider drill maximizes your damage/pressure potential at a statistically better rate at the moment.
And until Respawn either A) lower the cooldown for the two drill perk, or B) increase the active drill time back up to its base, you are shooting yourself in the foot and limiting your kit's full potential by choosing it. RESPAWN FIX THIS ISSUE PLEASE.
