Where is it legal to pee in public?

So recently there's been like 3 cases of people just peeing on random stuff in MRT station, so I just have a question. If you rlly damn bad have to go but no toilet right, then is there a place that you can just pee on(legally)? Like I've seen some people just go behind a tree at the side of the road, is this legal or not? Just curious
