Is it considered immature to drive a late model muscle car when you’re older?
I’m a 63yo car guy and I’ve owned a lot of fast cars through the years, including 60’s muscle and late model Challenger’s, Mustang’s, TBSS, etc. Lately, I feel like most people who own vintage muscle are old (like me or older), and the late model muscle cars have a bad reputation now because of all the obnoxious outlaw videos of intersection takeovers and street racing, plus a high theft rate. They definitely appeal to a younger crowd and I feel like my friends and family will think I’m just trying to be young if I buy one. I’ve owned and restored a lot of old muscle cars and could pickup another one, as the prices are the same as the late stuff now, but I like the handling, braking, comfort and reliability of the newer muscle cars more. I didn’t feel too old 5 or 10 years ago, but for some reason I do now.
