When did preferences become a bad thing?

I was at a gay bar with my boy tonight and we sit at the bar all the time and chat with the bartender. This time us and the bartender conversation about sexual preferences caught like wildfire and next thing we know it’s 7 other guys at the bar in on the convo. I began to talk about my preferences. Basically. I like all different types of men. I’m attracted to, had sex with, and dated men of different sizes, races, types etc. Even told stories about the different men I’ve been with.

I then stated that Puerto Rican and Dominican men are the men that I’m attracted to the most. This one guy seemed bothered by that saying I fetishizing. I don’t entertain it because I know I do not.

The conversation goes to the bartender and he says he likes all different types of men as well. He also says that some nights he’s horny for a certain type of man. Sometime he wants to bottom for a Latino man. Sometime he wants to top a femboy. This same guy gets upset.

I asked why is he getting so upset over what other people are into and attracted to. He couldn’t give a valid reason other than we are fetishizing others. I honestly feel like dude was blurring the lines too much. He literally was finding a problem with everyone’s input

Honestly speaking no one was disrespecting anyone. We were just a bunch of guys sharing our experiences and talking about what we find sexually attractive.

When does having a sexual preference become such a bad thing?
