Would Erwin have been a yaegerist if he was chosen to be colossal titan?

Seems like he knew all along that the titans weren’t the enemy but other humans, even within paradis he dealt with the conniving whims of society and politics, if he truly found out what lies beyond the wall would he also had flattened the earth?
