Just found out I have "severe central spinal stenosis" caused by a herniated disc. Does this pretty much guarantee surgery?
So I just got my MRI results back, basically I have 2 bulging discs and a herniated disc that is causing "severe central spinal stenosis." Which I'm aware is not good. There is also a bit of Foraminal stenosis which may actually be the one responsible for my symptoms.
Currently my symptoms are that I get pretty severe sciatic pain in my left leg, like in the hip area when walking or standing for any period longer than a couple minutes (standing less so).
My left foot also has some very slight tingling numbness, but I can still walk on my toes, heels etc.
Basically, the "severe central stenosis" is what has me freaked out. Because then you have to watch out for things like Cauda equina syndrome.
Has anyone dealt with something like this without major surgery, that is something I absolutely want to avoid if all possible.
