USE TONGS!!!

I don’t know who needs to hear this but PLEASEEE use tongs when feeding. I recently rescued this young ball python that refused to eat while in the original owner’s care. I bought the sick snake and everything that it needs, plenty of clutter, hiding spots, climbing spots, the only issue is this snake has been severely neglected to the point of its entire body being wrinkly and having stuck shed. I’m hoping with proper humidity he improves. Today was my 2nd attempt at feeding him and I couldn’t find my long tweezers. I dipped the pinkie in boiling hot water, and he struck it, causing it to fall, then he struck my index finger, wrapping around my hand. I freaked out, tried to put rubbing alcohol on the corners of his mouth, didn’t work. I gently pried open his little mouth and he let go, I had never been bitten by a snake before until now. Don’t recommend, I cried. TLDR- I got my sick snake to eat, but at what cost (my finger and pride)
