Should NOBLETIGERS be celebrated more from the defensive perspective?
Whenever anything about a team committing a NOBLETIGER is posted on here, it’s from the perspective of shaming the team at the plate.
There never seems to be anything about the team on the field, though.
Yeah, the team on the field - or at least the pitcher, depending on circumstances - allowed the first three runners to get on base. That said, credit needs to be given to the pitcher and fielders for bearing down (or maybe tigering up?) and TCBing from that point forward. It’s not like the batters were giving up with the bases loaded and no outs; the defensive team stepped up their game and came through in the clutch.
Yet it’s always discussed as if the hitting team just goofed up. I don’t get it. It removes credit from the other team. That doesn’t seem right.

EDIT: Meant to type “NOBLETIGERs” in the title. My bad.
