iManage cutting to black screen?

My iManage cuts to a black screen every so often when I try to quickly search something. I can only reset it by closing and restarting Outlook. My IT people have looked multiple times, but each thing they do (reinstall, updating laptop software) doesn't seem to solve the issue. It seems as though iManage gets overwhelmed by my attempted search and craps out. My laptop has an i7 so it definitely has enough power to run the application. Has anyone else experienced/found a fix for this? Thanks.
