Let’s share our strategies for managing Bipolar 2

This is my recipe:

  1. Get a solid step based sleeping pill defence to get good sleep and get your internal clock working :) — Melatonin — prometazine or some of the sleeping pill antihistamines that works for you without giving you the creeps — Prescription benzodiazepine

  2. Make sure you’ve got a SSRI that works for you

  3. Talk to your doctor about getting on a daytime benzo for a short time like a week max

  4. Stay off alcohol and drugs since it delete the effect of SSRI

  5. Drink redbull when down and also first thing in mornings :)

  6. Start with future depression defence drug like Lamotragine

  7. Go to anxiety therapy groups, prepare to feel slightly worse in the beginning. But getting to know and interact others in your situation helps you to understand that you can get some control, and that there are tools for you to use

  8. Be proud of yourself, you have it 10X harder that normal people and even that hasn’t broken you thus far. Look at what you’ve accomplished! Shit, you’re a fighter! You have already proved that by even getting through this shit.

  9. Accept that you will fall down 10X more that others and that you because of that will have to get up 10X more than everyone else. Focus on every strategy you can find and try to get you out of downs as fast as possible.

  10. Accept that you get ups that can look different from time to time, and that sleep breaks them most of the time. Also treat with you anxiety tools

This is my strategy, and it works pretty good for me. Let’s hear yours!
