Elektra by Jennifer Saint

I just finished Elektra and it was good, but not excellent or outstanding. I think I liked her previous book Ariadne better. As someone who is well-versed in the Iliad, Odyssey, and Greek tragedies, to me Elektra just felt like a straightforward retelling of the well-known stories of the Atreides (Agamemnon's family) and parts of the Trojan War. No new insights or really creative interpretations, except for Cassandra's death being a result of her own request to Clytemnestra to take pity on her and kill her. Anyone else who read Elektra want to share their thoughts?
