The gymnastics used to demonize Walt over other characters have reached astounding levels

Yes, he manufactured and dealt drugs. Yes, he unwittingly put his family in danger. Yes, he had people killed (every one of which was in the game mind you). Yes, these are not activities people should aspire to. However, the point of the show is to illustrate the extreme and unpredictable lengths a reasoning, everyday person might go to when pushed by circumstance.

We get it. The powers that program society don't want audiences chumming up too much to a character that breaks its confines, lest they get ideas themselves. So there can only be one prevailing ‘fan’ narrative pushed on a sub with millions of members devoted to a show that epitomizes Joe Everyman rebelling.

However, would you really have us believe that Walt is worse than:

Jessie the junkie dealer who went into this life as his first choice, tried to sell drugs at support groups for addicts, and repeatedly derailed everything?

Mike the hitman who was going to put Jesse down like a dog before he switched gears to turn him against Walt, and conveniently forgot everything that forced Walt's hand against Gus in the first place?

Gus, who was totally onboard with killing kids?

Marie the kleptomaniac? (Walt had many failings but at least he never stole from people).

Gretchen and Elliott, the billionaires who passive aggressively squeezed Walt out of his company and robbed him of credit to boot. One whose snob family gave Walt the cold shoulder, driving him away (read between the lines) and the other who hooked up with his ex. What self-respecting man *would* accept charity from them under these circumstances? And if you think Walt's dealings are criminal, it's small fries compared to what goes on in the boardroom.

Don't get me wrong. Walt does a lot of bad things. However, the characters that are 'good' on the show are few and far between, and Walt still has more integrity than most.
