I’m afraid to look

I’m 5 days out from a UMX (Lt) and I haven’t been able to look at the surgery site yet. If I look down I see this concave sloping away where my breast used to be, and I can’t look more. My husband has been encouraging me to shower, but every time I even think about it, I start to cry. (Crying a little bit now.) I don’t know what to do.

EDIT: I just looked (7 days out). I took the very helpful advice given below and had my husband with me. I was surprised actually—it did not look nearly as bad as I had feared. Thank you all again for the superb support and suggestions. (I looked because my skin has been itching like crazy and I decided to take the bra off)
