Chemo question

So, I’m stage 1. My tumor was 9mm, grade 2. No lymph node involvement. I’m ER/PR + and HER2-

I had 2 lumpectomies and have clear margins. My genetics test came back clean. However, my oncotype score came back 25. I met with the medical oncologist this week for the second time. She wants me to do 5 months of Taxol and doxorubicin as a preventative and told me it would provide me less than 6% benefit and that the studies have not shown whether chemo provides the most benefit or if it’s the forced menopause. This makes me feel a little like a guinea pig.

I will be getting my ovaries out, doing radiation, and then aromatase inhibitors. All of the other doctors I’ve seen up until now didn’t think I would need any chemo.

I was shocked by both the chemo drugs she wants to do and the length of time…as a preventative. Has anyone else been in this position? It feels very very extreme when I have so many things not indicating anything like this.

I’m getting a second and third opinion because there’s no way I could live with whatever decision I land on without having multiple medical opinions on this.

As a separate note, I wasn’t crazy about her bedside manner the first time we met. I gave her a second chance. She was cold and dismissive for a second time. She seemed bizarrely surprised that I wasn’t happy with this prospect she’s laid out…like genuinely thought I’d be more than okay with it I think. And she was unhappy with me asking questions and got very defensive. So, regardless of what happens, I’m transferring my care elsewhere.

Edit to add age - I’m 50
