Since Milano has come back, the Bills have allowed only 4.0 Yards/Carry
In the 7 games since Matt Milano returned, the Bills run defense has significantly improved, allowing only 4.0 yards/carry. I couldn’t find the rankings over that time span, but over the course of the season that would be within the top 5.
In that stretch, they played 5 games against top half rushing offenses. In those games, they allowed only 4.1 Yards/Carry and 96.6 Yards/Game. 96.6 Yards/Game would rank 4th in the league over the whole season, and that’s against only top-16 rushing offenses.
Included in this stretch is the Bills holding the 6th ranked rushing offense of the Lions, who average 146.4 Yards/Game and 4.7 Yards/Rush to only 48 Yards on 15 Carries, one of their worst performances of the season.
Since Week 13, they rank 5th in Rush EPA/play allowed, and 10th in Rushing Success Rate.
The Ravens have a double headed monster in the backfield and their running game is indeed, terrifying. However, I think some Bills fans are underrating our run defense and I think by looking at the stats we can see the run defense is not as porous as many of us think.
