Reddit notification and dms not loading on my Android phone.

Ive been facing this issue since long now.. the notification bell shows a sign but the notification isnt updated in the section. Same with dms.. The dms are not getting updated.. I cannot see who replied until I open the chat and manually check. I uninstalled and reinstalled reddit thrice..cleared cache and still the problem persists.. I could see someone had dm'ed me on reddit from my phone notification bar but the app doesnt show any dm or update. How do I fix this?
