RAM stick died after a year.
Troubleshooting Help:
Hi, so I made a PC about 15~ months ago, and it worked perfectly fine. Today there was one hiccup in that it took about 36 seconds to start up. I then noticed that it was only recognising 1 of my 2 RAM.
I went through the process of reseating the ram, checking the BIOS to see which of the slots was not being recognised then swapped the RAM around to confirm it was the RAM rather than the socket. The windows memory diagnostic tool didn't find any faults. Replacement RAM should arrive tomorrow.
PC specs, starting with the offending component are as follows:
CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 5200MHz CL40
ASUS® TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI
Intel® Core™ i5 10-Core Processor i5-12600K (3.7GHz)
12GB ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4070
CORSAIR 750W RMe SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD
I was under the impression that RAM was one of the most stable components. Is it possible there could be some underlying issue that could have caused the one RAM stick to die? I'm curious if there is any other diagnostics I should do.
