We don't understand this illness - help researchers change that

Hi all,

I am a researcher/PhD candidate at InsideOut Institute for Eating Disorders at the University of Sydney, and I am passionate about changing our absymal recovery rates for Anorexia Nervosa.

Have fully recovered myself, and having had a long experience of sub-par treatment, I have spent a good deal of time in the last few years of my PhD interrogating (in a nice way!) researchers, clinicians and people with lived experience to try and get at the core of this illness, because it is clear with our current theories (which are primarly based on the idea that it is an overvaluation of weight and shape), we don't understand it.

This has culminated in a 20-30min web survey which we will be using to generate our novel theory of illness - every question in this study has been thought about and co-designed in detail, and we need thousands of people from across the world (with and without AN! And especially those with other eating disorders) to complete it so that we can do some sophisticated network modelling on it.

If you have the time and capacity, I would be SO appreciative if you would take part. This is the first time a theory of illness is being empirically tested before being put out into the world and I really believe it has the potential to change the way we research and treat Anorexia.

You will also go in the draw to win one of two $500 VISA gift cards (no matter where you are in the world!)
