Reynolds and a VERY broken SYSTEM!
On January 13, 2025, at approximately 8:43 a.m., officers with the Burlington Police Department responded to Lakeside Avenue for a trespass issue. When officers arrived on the scene, an investigation revealed that Michael Reynolds, 47, of Burlington, had been instructed to leave the property and was refusing to do so. Reynolds was informed that he had been trespassed, and officers gave him a courtesy transport off the property.
At approximately 12:19 pm, officers with the BPD responded to Lakeside Avenue after Reynolds returned to the property, was reportedly verbally aggressive to staff, and refused to leave. Officers took Reynolds into custody for unlawful trespass.
Earlier, Reynolds was trespassed at the University of Vermont Medical Center at approximately 6:45 a.m. Officers responded after being called for assistance due to Reynolds's reported aggressive behavior. This marks three incidents in six hours where Reynolds exhibited aggressive behavior while trespassing, requiring a police response.
The courts directed officers to release Reynolds from custody without citation or conditions, advising they would arraign him at his next scheduled appearance.
