How can someone who made their money in tech be responsible for a company that produces such an embarrassing app?

I have tried everything possible to get my Android TV-based projector to work with the Monumental+ app, but no matter what I do I cannot get it to recognize that I have a Verizon FIOS cable subscription that includes Monumental Network. It honestly makes me furious every time I decide to try again and see if some arcane combination of magic links and OTPs will work this time. There are hundreds of apps out there that are able to leverage a cable subscription. I swear if I see another screen encouraging me to shell out $200 to subscribe I am going to scream.

I guess it is possible that Android TV is not that common, but surely I am not the only person with these issues. Anyone have any ideas?
