I gotta pick Clairvoyance next time.

My second ever run (first non-tutorial) was going great. Had a nice pilgrim qho wandered using flaming ray and a steel longsword to dispatch enemies, tanked with high toughness but patched up with regeneration. I did most of the starting stuff in Joppa, got to level nine, and was feeling good.

It was time to explore! I go to the nearby historial site north-east of Joppa. Its populated by the terror-family of Aramish. Weird, but okay. I have no issues clearing the main area. Everything is of trivial difficulty. I see stairs and I feel confident in going down.

I descend the stairs into madness.

In the room I descend into, there are well over a dozen combatants, all fighting. Unfortunately, one of them is a honey skunk who poots as I descend, obscuring not only most of the room but also the stairs. The stairs I have not moved from. I cannot ascend. I see a robot that is clearly too challenging to me but I cannot ascend to escape, so I try to kite it but between it and the many other enemies, I succumb.

Man, that honey badger wasnt even hostile, yet it killed me. Next life Im taking Clairvoyance and using that ahead of descents.
