Shout out to my doctor
I know there's a lot of frustration with the medical system on here, and for good reason. So I wanted to give a "shout out" to one of the good guys. I had an appt earlier today because I wanted to discuss some possible treatment options. I sent my doctor the relevant studies over the patient portal yesterday since I don't have a printer.
She walks into the exam room this morning and says, "I spent some time last night reading over the studies you sent me. What do you want to try first?" 5 min later, I had my prescription.
I don't think she knows the first thing about ME, but she definitely listens, and she doesn't waste my precious energy. I'll keep her!
Edit: Since several commenters asked, the specific studies I shared with my doctor are the valacyclovir + celecoxib study done by Bateman Horne: Dogwood Therapeutics, Inc. Announces Low Dose IMC-2 and a study on H1/H2 combos to treat Long Covid: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.06.06.21258272v1. The latter doesn't require a prescription, but I wanted to talk it over with my doctor since the dosages reported in the study are twice the standard dosage. I am trying the valacyclovir + celecoxib first!
