Do you guys think my chinchillas will remember me? :(

I got my babies about 9 months ago I live with my boyfriend and his family everyone loves them so I never worried about the chillas living with us, But my boyfriends family ended up buying a new house, so during the move i asked my friend to watch them for me and he loves them, so it worked out but this is where it gets crazy… I mentioned them coming back and staying in my boyfriends room after we get settled in and she said no 😐 because “they will destroy the wood floors” (they wont but she believes what she wants and no one can tell her otherwise) we gave her solutions like putting down a rug and something on the walls to prevent them from peeing on it but she just says “i dont wanna talk about it right now im stressed so drop it” 🙄 So now I have had my chinchillas at a friends house for about a month and i miss them and the whole situation is so frustrating. But do you guys think that if/when i get them back they will have forgot about me? :(
