Clonidine waking every 2 hours

Hi so I’ve been recently diagnosed with adhd, I was prescribed clonidine for sleep roughly about 2 weeks ago, and dexys a week ago. I was told to use to the clonidine to help me sleep at night and also use half a tablet after 4 hours of taking a dex to help with the come down. Every single night I’ve been waking up every 2 hours and dreaming like crazy. Each time I’d wake up, I’d get up and go to the toilet but would have a dizzy spell where my vision when all black and I had to hold onto the wall for 30 seconds or so waiting for that feeling to pass. I thought it was meant to help me sleep, I mean it definitely helps me fall asleep but I was able to sleep all night without waking up once before starting these. I was using melatonin to sleep but my doctor advised me against that and thought Clonidine would be better. I’m on the fence about whether I should quit the clonidine and just go back to melatonin.
