Is Green Chartreuse still a rare find?
The Last Word cocktail sounded really interesting to me on paper, so I bought a bottle of Green Chartreuse today.
I learned about the history of Chartreuse recently, and the history alone makes me feel that this was worth the investment.
The very first liquor store I visited carried Green Chartreuse. I had to ride a bus for an hour to get to this city (I had other business there as well).
The Chartreuse was hidden in the backroom, available only upon request.
It was a mere $67, which seemed cheap compared to what people have paid in other states. I was window shopping and didn't have the cash right then and there.
Went back today, 2 days after finding the Chartreuse, after realizing how incredibly rare this stuff supposedly is. I managed to score a bottle so I'm happy, but it could be horrible tasting for all I know, haha.
I had checked two other decently stocked liquor stores and neither had it in stock. This makes me believe it may still be difficult to find across the country in general?
I didn't inquire about Yellow Chartreuse.
