Columbia Orthopedic Group or How I Learned The Meaning Of Painful Frustration
Where do I begin? AVOID Columbia Orthopedic Group and Dr. Sahota, unless you're into being treated crap and ran around in circles.
I went to COG for an injured left shoulder. The nurse who worked with me was very nice and I had high hopes for my new doctor and BOY, was I wrong.
Dr. Sahota was rude and dismissive. He was in and out of the room in less than 4 minutes (I record my visits) and had his mind made up before he even saw me or talked to me. And when even remotely questioned, he became annoyed and begun to contradict himself.
It was like being visited by Gregory House from that TV show but purchased from Temu.
When I had my MRI done (at my request because I was planning to go get a 2nd opinion), again, I ran into more BS. They demanded that I have a driver with me for the MRI since I was getting an injection first, which is stupid but fine. Safety first.
The nurse and the doctor who gave me the shot were amazing. PROPS to them, they were thr only positive experience I had getting the MRI. The tech was miserable, mean SOB who smelt like a combination of sadness and mediocrity.
He shoves me into the MRI machine and and positions me right up against the side of the MRI machine, which is vibrating as it runs. And then he keeps yelling at me over the speaker to "quit moving".
MY DUDE, I ain't moving shit! The machine is moving me, what the Hell do you want me to do about it? Ask the machine to run softer?
I HAD scheduled a 2nd opinion with Missouri Orthopedic Institute and when I asked for my records, COG said they could not provide them to me. Even though they are the ones that provided the services, they can't provide records and that I had to go through a 3rd party called ShareCare.
Fine. Whatever. I jumped through the hoops and filled out all the paperwork. Day before the appointment I find out they still haven't sent the records yet.
WTF. Ok, fine, benefit of the doubt, it would have been a quick turn around so I will reschedule in like more 2 weeks. Gives them plenty of time.... right. RIGHT?
It has been 28 days and I have still yet to get my records. COG claims that they are not responsible and that ShareCare has shown them as delivered (but can't say to where).
Despite all that, my appointment at Missouri Orthopedic Institute today was surprisingly beneficial, even without all my results.
We now have a plan of action, I was listened too, the doctor actually looked and examined me and my injury and yea...
I don't normally suggest something connected to the University but if you can, go to Missouri Orthopedic Institute. You're more likely to be treated like a human there. And you may even get your medical records too boot.
And Columbia Orthopedic Group. Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart. Get fxxed.
