Help with audio issue (GBA SP)
Hey guys,
I recently bought 2 GBA SPs with bad screens for about $25 each. One is already fixed with a new shell and a beautiful IPS screen.
However, the other one is having audio issues. The audio is extremely low at maximum volume. I already tried a new speaker, no fix. Cleaned everything with BW-100, no fix. Then tried the switch with a multimeter, and it apparently works okay (I have a new volume control on the way to replace it anyway).
But looking at the reference motherboard I found (pics 1) and comparing with mine (pic 2), the area at the lower right side (pics 3 & 4) looks different. I don’t know if the component is different in different revisions or if that coil is damaged. Also, maybe it has nothing to do with sound?
The console works perfectly otherwise, but the sound is extremely low. I also ordered a GBA SP sound amplifier to see if it works, but I want to save it for another one if possible.
Additionally, I have a 3rd one on its way that doesn’t turn on, which I bought for $10, so that will be another adventure.
Thanks in advance.
