Anyone here who sucked as a student but became good developer/engineer?

I haven't passed much exams at university due to my laziness and lack of discipline. I am the worst student out of my friend group, I constantly think about coding and studying but I struggle to start.I don't know what I am doing wrong when I have chosen to code for a living.

Are here any successful software developers/engineers who were bad as students? Have you learned stuff aside studying for exams or something just clicked?
