What character(s) did you initially dislike, but warm up to over time?

For me, I was initially not a fan of Kyoko when I first experienced DR1. Overall, I found her to be a very stagnant character who didn't appear to exhibit much change over the course of the game, and was more or less the same cold and unforthcoming person from start to finish.

It wasn't until my third or fourth playthrough of the game that I started to understand her character better, and develop more of an appreciation for her. She was cold and forthcoming by design, because it's both a result of how her grandfather raised her to be the Ultimate Detective, and because it compels us to learn more about her, as she's very resilient to share anything with us at the start. It's also just generally unrealistic to assume a character will exhibit a significant change in their personality in such short time, so while Kyoko's changes are subtle, they are still very apparent, and she was NOT the same person from start to finish (this realization also made me realize just how rushed Fuyuhiko's development arc was). I also grew to really like her relationship with Makoto, because the two really do balance off each other well in how they help each other accomplish their goals.

Maybe I should've realized all these things when I FIRST experienced DR1, but I'm happy that I finally managed to open up to her, and I'm curious to know if there's anyone else whose had a similar experience as me with another character?
