I think Phantom Planet should've taken inspiration from "The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man" instead of having Danny get rid of his powers.

Just as Danny is about to strip himself of his powers, Danny discovers a letter from a kid with cancer and for part of the episode, he must contemplate on visiting him in his final days while trying to save the world from Dark Danny (I thought the Disasteroid was a cheap cop-out).

During the visit, it reminds Danny that even when the Master Blasters upstage them, there are still people who need Danny Phantom.

When Dan is defeated, Danielle gets adopted by the Fentons, Danny's family discovers his secret, Vlad is exposed and ruined, and the Master Blasters joined forces with Team Phantom.
