What question do you wish you could've asked David Lynch before today?

This is excluding any "What did X mean?" or "What was X about?"

I would have loved to ask him how he feels the concept of personal canons - where we the audience make up our own answers to the questions presented by an artist. And was very curious to ask him about what, if any, actual structure he believed exists within "dream logic," which is to say, if there's more to dream logic than just the notion that dreams are weird and anything can happen.

I knew I'd probably never get to actually have a conversation with the man, but I still held out some sliver of hope at the possibility. Celebrity deaths don't usually bother me, and I knew his time was limited, but today's news has still bummed me out.

Edit to add an example of a common phenomenon I've noticed in dreams that feels like I've also seen in Lynch's work. Sometimes in a dream, all of the sudden you'll know something to be true that you didn't know before then, but it will become true retroactively, like, it was actually true the whole time, and reality in the dream seems to morph to make room for that truth.
