My Idea on a Blight Addon Rework:
Hello! this is a simple fan rework of The Blight's most problematic / underused addons. I in no way think that my rework is the most balanced thing ever created, I just think this would be better than what we currently have, and certainly more interesting. Each image splits the addons by rarity, and there are captions for each image to help explain my reasoning behind changing each addon.
Anyone who has used Compound Seven knows that it is just a really weird addon. It doesn't feel right nor is it worth using. I feel that I've given it a pretty fun and interactive use that actually allows you to do some pretty cool stuff if you try and play for it. Placebo Tablet is a meme addon, and I wanted to really make it give you a placebo effect. You will 100% feel faster using this addon with the FOV increases, although it may make you a bit motion sick :(
Blighted Rat is the lesser of the speed addons, but that doesn't mean its not powerful. \"Double speed\" is a very popular choice from blights for a reason, it's super good. With a nerf to both the speed addons, it might push for these blights to use something different. Plague Bile is a tricky one, It had a completely useless effect (for most Blights), but I feel that this may just be too powerful. Free mangled on M2 on a killer that pretty much always gets their hits with it is kind of amazing, hence me making it rare instead of uncommon. Shredded notes is a very weird addon that isn't really even bad, it's just so overshadowed by blight's other addons that are stronger. A simple number buff is what I've given it here, although I think it could still maybe be buffed even more.
Adrenaline Vial is perhaps one of Blights most broken addons. I decided to stick with this addons great effect of giving you 2 more rushes with a bit of extra speed, with the drawback of making your recovery much longer as well as adding a movement speed decrease for using it. This should allow survivors to gain much more distance against a Blight using this addon, unlike before. Blighted Crow was explained before, this addon was just really popular for a good reason, I gave it a simple nerf to make it less viable. Compound Twenty-One was a weird one because you really don't see it that often, but it is a very strong addon. This takes away a lot of the skill needed to play blight, which isn't very interactive on the survivor side. I decided to give it a simple nerf of range and duration to hopefully alleviate this. Umbra Salts was yet another addon that had a pretty useless effect. I decided to give it a pretty useful break speed effect, which is to try and add more variety to the addons you see from Blights in matches.
Alchemist Ring is perhaps one of the most controversial addons in the game. Not letting survivors make any distance is a really bad addon design that was in desperate need of a nerf or rework. I decided to go with the nerf route. This addon will still be great, cutting your power recovery time in half, but only if you hit the survivor with your rush. I think this could still be nerfed even more, maybe down to -0.75 per power token, but this is still definitely an improvement. Soul Chemical was a really weird addon. As far as I know its the only addon in the game that adds skill checks, which was cool but ultimately very gimmicky. I gave it a tracking element, but a very limited one at that. Only being able to reveal one survivor per rush was intentional as to not make it ultimate weapon but as an addon (that would be absolutely broken). Vigo's Journal was a surprisingly really underused addon from my experiences. I almost never saw this addon used, but it has a lot of fun potential. I decided to give it some more additions that helps it turn blight into a stealthier killer, I might have done a little too much to buff this one, but I would rather have silent Blights running around than ones trying to abuse the strongest things possible.
Iridescent Blight Tag wasn't really as problematic as his other major offenders (C33, adren vial, alch ring) but man was it very unfun to go against a lethal pursuer blight with this addon. I decided to get rid of it's instant down effect and give it a pretty unique, fundamental change to his power. The ability to hit on your first rush might be too over powered, but I think it might balance out with the reduction to tokens which is not able to be changed with other addons (namely adrenaline vial). The speed increase is to balance out your lack of traversal, making each individual rush more valuable. Overall this addon would most likely be very over powered or underpowered, I don't really see an in-between here.
A simple addon, but still a very strong one. Compound Thirty-Three's current form is absolutely ridiculous, the pallet break speed effect alone is powerful, not to mention the hindered on top of it. I decided to nerf its break speed effect by a minor amount, and completely remove the hindered part of the addon. I still see this addon being very strong, although not the broken powerhouse it is right now.
