Why me?

I just started playing dbd and immediately paid for Nicholas cage as my main survivor because how could I not, plus on sale :). However, my question is to the killer mains. Why is it that whenever you get a lobby of us terrible survivors I am spared? Numerous times I’ve had killers completely roll through us (talking 2 kills before a single gen done) yet I’m left alone to do either gens or unhooks. I’m working on my looping ability and am getting decent at stalling so usually after 1 or 2 chases they’ll leave me alone, but after the others are killed they either leave me to finish gens and escape or I’ve even been downed and carried to the hatch before. Is this either 1. something killers do for us bums 2. something they do for señor cage or 3. do they assume I’m a somewhat decent player and “feel bad” I was given “bad teammates” (I know I’m not good it just usually happens after I manage to stall them a bit)
