Nursery admissions in Delhi- Is this for real?
My cousin and his wife have been trying to get their kid into nursery in Delhi, and the whole process is honestly overwhelming. They live in South Delhi, both are well-educated professionals—he’s a doctor, and she’s an investment banker. You’d think getting their child into a good school wouldn’t be such a struggle, but even with their background, it’s turning out to be a nightmare.
They’re open to management quota, but the costs are shocking. Modern School Barakhamba has quoted ₹25 lakhs, and schools like Mother’s International are asking for ₹22 lakhs. It’s hard to believe these numbers are for nursery admissions!
Is this really how things are now? How are regular families even managing this? Would love to hear from others who’ve been through the process. I plan to have a baby soon and hearing all this makes me feel I might not be able to get my kid admitted anywhere since I’m not able to honestly justify how is 20-25 lakhs which is almost an equal or more than annual salary for so many folks be for a nursery seat? I am shook!
TL;DR: Cousin is facing crazy nursery admission costs in Delhi—₹25L for Modern, ₹22L for MI. I’m TTC, and it’s making me anxious. Is this normal?
