22/M - Virtual University 6th semester BS CS student in need of guidance regarding career

I have spent almost 4 years jumping from wordpress, to MERN stack, to a lil bit AI and stuff but haven't really been able to do anything properly. I know most probably the problem lies in my inconsistency... or maybe because I really no interest in this field and just went into this because everyone around me was doing this? Yeah if I work REALLY hard, I can crack this field, just the way I cracked calculus in intermediate. Did I enjoy doing ONCE I figured how to do it? Yeah. Same is my case with programming. Does innvoation and future of tech intrigues me? Absolutely. But I have I ever uploaded any project on github that I made for fun? Never. Like the idea of staring at terminal screens just cringes me and I just can't sit and do this (or atleast dont wanna do this.)

What I really am into, is business, ecom specifically. I am currently working on it as well. And my plan is to get a job which pays well and is future proof and I'll use captial from there into my business to the maximum extent. My recent job was a junior python developer (transitioned from an intern). I was in that company for 6-7 months until I got laid off. Was a boring af experience. Now I am thinking about going into Business Development as its core really aligns with my goals. I am GREAT in communication (to an extent where I was highly appreciated for it at my office by my senior). I have the ability to become a jack of multiple trades (which is a requirement in BD, I guess?). And last but not the least, this is probably gonna help me alot in my ecom dream. Now I dont have any prior experience in BD but hey, you always start from zero dont you?

Now the reason of posting this is I wanna know if this is a good career choice in terms of:

  • Future proof/AI proof
  • Job safety
  • Freelancing

TL;DR: I just got laid off from my python developer job and I wanna know if transition into Business Development (as it probably aligns with my dream of persuing Ecom) is a good choice?
