Does ANYONE have an A1C over 5.3?

Ive been diabetic for 38 years (almost 50 years old now), and am an athlete with a physical job. All of my blood tests (cholesterol, etc) come back great, I dont have neuropathy and am not on the verge of death or amputation.

My A1C has been in the mid to high 6s, occasionally even 7 for three decades. The last time I was in the 5s, it was after months of hypoglycemic episodes and generally feeling awful.

Im genuinely so happy for everyone who has great control and regularly keeps their blood sugars below 140. You guys are amazing! But is there anyone else out there who is genuinely healthy with higher long- term A1Cs? It seems like anything over 6 is seen as out- of- control, but being in the 5s is so difficult and makes it harder for me to live a healthy lifestyle because Im constantly trying to raise low blood sugars.
