I FINALLY found a good FREE digital journal that works perfectly for me!
I’ve explored nearly every note-taking app out there: Standard Notes, Obsidian, DayOne, Joplin, OneNote, SimpleNotes—you name it. Despite their features, something always felt off.
Here’s what matters to me in a note-taking solution:
- Free
- End-to-end encryption
- Compatibility across all my devices
- Support for the Apple Pencil
- Unlimited uploads of photos, videos, audio recordings, and PDFs
- True privacy—no parent company access to my content
After much trial and error, I set up ForeverNotes in Apple Notes, and I couldn’t be happier. Apple Notes offers end-to-end encryption when you lock a note, offline access, and cross-platform usability (even on Windows via the iCloud web app). The setup for ForeverNotes is a bit tedious but straightforward, and it checks every box on my list.
While I could go on about the flaws of other services, I’ll just say this: if you’re looking for a highly secure, flexible, and private system for your notes, I highly recommend trying this setup.
