Getting insurance for car without last name

I was her as international student and got my full license in jan but the second column was empty as i didn't have last name in my passport, fuck this country doest consider people with only first name. I just bought my car 2 days ago and i tried every where to get my car insure so i can drive it home however, no matter which website i go to, or call to they say they can't, worst thing theg don't even recognize my license number because of 12 character is 9 not my initial. My car still in that garage for two days, im trying one day insurance and yearly and the only qoute i got is 9000£ i bought my car for 600£ lol. Now im stuck, oo! My internet god please help..
