New Iron Cobra 600 bass pedal very stiff

Im not sure why but my new bass pedal doesn’t fall with gravity like my old one. I tried some lubricant on the sides of the hinge but it did nothing and im really not sure how I would lubricate the hinge, any ideas? Thank you
