Did Steven ever pay for shooting Jane??

Like within a few months of him holding Ian prisoner for months then shooting his wife, it looked as if Ian had forgiven Steven and had him round for Christmas (against Jane's wishes of course) then they parted on good terms! I mean obviously things reached a head mid 2008 when Ian officially disowned Steven after he tried to send Lucy away but regards Steven shooting Jane and holding Ian prisoner, was any actual justice served or did he just get away with it all??
