How did you become an electrician

I've struggled to find a job in this industry, construction in general.

It's seems the consensus is apprentiships. Or temporary work which so far I haven't wanted.

I'm at the position to take risks and shorter term work. Is this the way to become an electrician. Phoning electrician asking if they need help or a apprentice
