I propose a "Bill Me" action
In short, I propose a protest where everyone switches to paper billing and communications from all the services where it's legally required, at the same time. After which we postmark all our bill payments the day they are due. The ask is inconvenient but significant on a personal basis. It will require people spending time switching all their bills where it's possible/legally required to paper billing.
This would apply to personal credit, student loans, car payments, mortgages, insurance payments, and most services (like phone bills, cable etc...)
I think the impact will be well disproportionate. Industries where billing is required must bill to create the obligation to pay, and given how much of billing services has moved online I think it will be virtually impossible to scale billing back up in an orderly way.
Then the delay in receiving payments will create a gap in incoming money and give financial institutions less time they can hold onto the money before they have to pay it out, and therefore less money they can make off it. The initial shock from the delay created by their inability to pay and then the delay as far as legal in payment starting up after that disruption could be significant.
This is a concrete protest action that would shot significant unity on the part of the people. And the people united are powerful.
