What are ‘the Illmatics’ of other genres?

By that I mean an album that is legendary simply by being the best at its genre. Illmatic isn’t one of the best hiphop albums ever for the same reason that TPAB is one of the best hiphop albums ever. One is extremely ambitious, innovative, conceptual and unique. The other extremely consistent and is skilful at the key parts of its genre and is now considered the gold standard for that genre.

Another example woukd be Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Kate Bush’s Hounds of Love. One is just a set of 9 incredible, to-the-point, pop songs, whereas the other is an ambitious concept album.
