Progress report and Looking for advice. 5’11, 170->185. 6 months.
Still very new to weight training.
I’ve always been self conscious about my arms, avoiding short sleeves or taking my shirt off. I finally feel like I’ve made a little progress.
I was ruining a 3 day full body program I saw online and it worked good but it was taking up too much of my morning. I’m currently running Push/Pull/Legs/Push/Pull. The reason I do 5 days a week is I only get 20-30 minutes at 5AM before I need to get ready for work and before the wife and kids are up.
I feel much heavier so I’ve added some walking. I am not sure what my goal is. I want to be bigger but yet I feel like I need to lose some weight.
My goal a day is to get 40 grams of protein per meal. And I usually am around 2500-3000 calories. I do not track but I try to have a mental note running about my diet. Honestly, it’s exhausting trying to eat the right stuff when you’ve got to feed 4 other people. But I’m doing my best.
I know people focus on bulk/cut. I’m just wondering if I keep doing what I’m doing if it’ll be “spinning my wheels” I guess if I’m honest with myself I want a larger, more fit upper body. I still cringe at my arms when I look at the side profile and I feel like there’s no definition at all, just slender tubes that run down from my shoulders. I know I’m making progress it it’s hard to take my brain off of it.
Just looking for guidance.
