Ear pain and flu

Yesterday I started having a bunch of flu like symptoms (body aches, irritated skin, fever). Today, I took a covid test and it came up negative, so it’s safe to say it’s the flu. I haven’t had the flu in years, but one symptom that is really bothering me today is very sharp right ear pain. It’s so bad I can barely sleep. It literally feels like a throbbing pain. Has anyone ever experienced this before? And any remedies for this ear pain?
